Feedback from our customers
Very different people come together at Attention: Professionals, students, groups of friends, families, long-time regulars and badminton newcomers. Some use the hall for their regular training, others for an after-work match or a sporty start to the weekend. Many appreciate the uncomplicated booking process, the personal atmosphere and the fact that you can sit together in the catering area before or after the session. However, our visitors themselves are the best people to tell us why they like coming to us again and again:

For over 30 years, the Attention Badminton Center has been the Home of badminton in Graz - a place that connects generations and creates memories.
Our mission iis to provide players with of all ages and skill levels a space where they can live out their passion for this fast, dynamic sport. Whether you're trying out your first strokes with friends or family or perfecting your technique as a competitive athlete - we focus on the fun of movement.
We believe that badminton is more than just a game: it is Community, Action and Joy. We believe in a family atmosphere where everyone feels welcome. Our aim is to be the heart of badminton in the region - a vibrant, healthy club that motivates and inspires across generations.

Our history
For a long time, Attention was the institution for badminton in Styria. Generations of players grew up here, made friends and experienced unforgettable moments on the courts.
But the future of the hall was at stake: A planned residential construction project seriously threatened the existence of the center. Andi Nischelwitzer, who was an enthusiastic club player himself, decided to fight. After many intensive negotiations, he succeeded in acquiring the entire shares in the badminton hall - a major step towards to save this only pure badminton hall in Styria.
When the operator at the time had to cease commercial operations and, despite many interested parties, nobody was willing to take the financial risk, Andi was faced with a crucial choice: close down or take responsibility himself? The answer came quickly: together with his wife and family and the existing Badminton Center team, he made the decision, to continue operations.
In August 2023 Andi and Lisa-Maria Mayer took over the management together. Lisa had already known the center for a long time and had been an important part of the team for years. Since then, the two have been working every day to get the center back on the road to success - with new ideas, continuous improvements and the support of a growing, lively community.
Today, Attention is once again what it was always intended to be: a lively, future-oriented A place for everyone who loves badminton.

Andi's story: Why Attention still exists today
When I learned that the Attention was to make way for another housing project, I accepted the challenge. After many tough negotiations - real individual battles - I finally acquired all the shares in the badminton hall. I hoped to achieve my goal, to maintain the only pure badminton hall in Styria, to have achieved this.
But then the tenant at the time told me that it was no longer economically viable and that he would have to give up. I was back at the very beginning of my dreams. I spent some time trying to find a new operator. Despite many interested parties, there wasn't a single person who wanted to take the financial risk of taking over a loss-making badminton center - which was understandable up to a certain point.

I realized at that moment: Either I close the sports facility now for good, or I take on full responsibility and run the hall myself. You have to know that I was already running two other companies at the time and my time resources were already very limited. However, after a brief consultation with my wife, who also encouraged me in my plans, the decision was made very quickly to run Attention myself.
I was also very lucky that Lisa-Maria Mayer - who had already been working at Attention for some time and had taken on important tasks - agreed to take over the management of the company together with me. to take over the former team.
We have been running the business together since August 2023. Since then, there has been a special dynamic: hardly a day goes by without us developing new ideas. We try out a lot - some things are implemented, developed further or sometimes discarded. It is precisely this process that keeps us moving forward and we are well on the way to making the business back in the profit zone to lead.
I would like to thank Lisa, the entire team and every single visitor from the bottom of my heart. Without you, Attention would just be an empty shell. Only through you will it be filled with life.

Lisa's story: Why the Attention became my second home
I associate the Attention with many Memories from my childhood. My dad used to take me to the hall and I would run around enthusiastically collecting broken balls. I was later really drawn into it by a friend who told me about a great job at the center told me. So I applied - and that was the start of my very own Attention story.
The center soon became like a second home. I was often there in my free time, chatting with the staff and simply enjoying the special atmosphere. The team felt like a small family - and even after a few short breaks, I was always drawn back.
