Peter Schlosser back in the lead at the hobby tournament on 24.1.2026

26 participants took part in the Attention Hobby Tournament on January 24, 2026 at the start. After many hard-fought matches, there were non-cash prizes for the top finishers in the A and B competitions as well as points for the Attention ranking list.

Top 5 in a class of their own

The field of participants was mixed this time: ten tournament newcomers tested their competitive skills for the first time, while four former Attention Hobby tournament winners were among the five supposed favorites.
The ten preliminary round matches were all clear two-set victories. As usual, the field was divided into A and B competitions after the first round. 16 players qualified for the A competition and ten players continued in the B competition.
From the second round onwards, the games became closer and often only a few points difference decided victory or defeat. In the A-competition the favorites prevailed: Defending champion Xin Jin, Peter Schlosser, Patrick Ditz, Mario Diethart and tournament debutant Severin Husty. The semi-finals saw a clash between the ATSE Graz club colleagues. A thriller developed between Peter and Severin, in which Severin was unable to take his chance and narrowly lost 21:23 and 24:26. The second semi-final between Xin and Patrick was a clear affair for Xin (21:17, 21:12). The final also produced a clear result: Peter Schlosser had everything under control against Xin (21:15, 21:12) and thus thwarted Xin's title defense. The match for third place between Severin and Patrick turned into a physical battle, which the latter won 21:19 in the third set.
In the B competition were mainly newcomers to the tournament, who all put up a good fight. There was fighting spirit and ambition throughout, as numerous three-set results show. In the end Ali Khan After losing the first round, Niklas Gamillscheg won all his other matches; he secured victory in the B competition with 21:19, 15:21, 21:12 in the final against Christopher Joham. Third place went to Niklas Gamillscheg, who also beat Martin Scherbela in three sets.

According to their rankings, the players received points for the Attention ranking, which shows the results of the previous hobby tournaments. In three months there will be the next chance to collect points - more information is available at here.
