At the Attention Hobby Tournament on April 5, 2025 28 participants were represented. The field was well filled and the level of play was consistently good. After more than 60 games, there were non-cash prizes for the top finishers in the A and B competitions as well as points for the Attention ranking list.
Top 4 shuffled once
The 28 players included a number of debutants, some of whom successfully shook up the field and even made it straight into the top half of the grid. Several players who had previously mainly been successful in the B competition also survived the first round. As usual, the field was split into A and B competitions after the first round, meaning that 16 players qualified for the A competition and 12 players continued in the B competition.
In addition to the aforementioned surprises, it was above all the expected regulars who took the top spots in the A-competition made up. And yet things turned out differently than many expected: Patrick Ditz, Peter Schlosser, Jürgen Häuselhofer and Mario Diethart all advanced to the semi-finals, with the latter having to fight hard against Moritz Blumenthal. In the final round, however, it was not the supposed favorites who prevailed: In a rematch of the final from the last tournament, Peter got his revenge and won against Patrick in three sets. It was a similar story in the second semi-final, in which Jürgen delivered a concentrated performance and defeated Mario in three tight sets. It was fitting that the final and the match for third place also went the full distance - the numerous spectators were treated to a lot, which was rewarded with loud cheers. In the end Peter Schlosser with 19:21, 21:15, 21:10 against Jürgen and was crowned Hobby Tournament winner for the first time! Patrick Ditz secured third place with 21:18, 17:21, 21:18 against Mario.
In the B competition three new ones were at the top: Georg Fruhmann won all his other matches after losing the first round and thus took victory. In the final, he defeated debutant Lucas Rosenkranz, who deserved his second place with a lot of commitment and fighting spirit. Gerd Tendl took third place ahead of Joshua Resch.
