Badminton Club BCUA

Badminton is your hobby and you want to train regularly with other passionate players?

Then you are in the BCUA, in the Badminton Club Union Attention, genau richtig!

We are a club for players who enjoy playing badminton on a regular basis and want to continue improving their game. At the same time, we value a welcoming and supportive community where friendships are built and enjoying the sport together is very important.

Is BCUA the Right Club for You?

BCUA is not a beginner club. We are looking for players who already have some badminton experience, understand the basic rules of the game, and can comfortably take part in rallies. That said, you do not need to be an expert or competitive player. If you have a solid foundation and enjoy playing regularly, you'll find plenty of opportunities to improve your game with us. During our club sessions, several courts are in use at the same time, allowing members to play with a variety of partners and opponents across different playing styles and skill levels.

Ideally, you should be able to:

-Understand and apply the basic rules and scoring system of badminton.

-Maintain rallies over multiple shots.

-Participate comfortably in doubles matches.

After your trial sessions, we will gladly provide honest feedback on whether your current playing level and our club environment are a good fit for each other.

Not sure whether you're quite at the required level yet, or would you like to improve before joining? We'd be happy to recommend experienced coaches and suitable training opportunities in Graz to help you prepare.

Many of our members also take part in regional leagues, championships, and tournaments, representing BCUA in competition. Participation is entirely optional. Whether you enjoy badminton purely as a hobby or also have competitive ambitions, you'll find like-minded players in our club.

The club's training times (all year round)

Mondays: 20:00 - 22:15
Wednesdays: 20:15 - 22:30

Summer time with an earlier start

During the summer months, when the sports hall operates with reduced opening hours, our sessions start one time slot earlier:

Monday: 7:15 pm to 9:30 pm Wednesday: 7:30 pm to 9:45 pm

Our club sessions are shared playing and training times for all members. Most of the time, members organise themselves and play independently on the courts reserved for the club. Therefore, these sessions are not traditional coach-led training sessions.

However, we regularly invite qualified coaches to run dedicated training sessions focusing on technique, tactics, and overall game development.

Membership & costs

Annual membership fee: €416 That's less than a quarter of the cost of a regular court subscription. Even if you only attend once a week, membership is already more cost-effective than booking courts individually. In addition, members benefit from special club activities and can book courts outside regular club sessions at heavily discounted rates together with other members. Our season starts on 1 April each year. If you join later in the season, your membership fee will be adjusted on a pro-rata basis, so you only pay for the remaining weeks of the season.

Trial day & registration

Would you like to get to know us first? You're welcome to join us for a free trial session. You can take part in up to three sessions before deciding whether to join the club. From your second session onwards, a fee of €10 per session applies. After a maximum of three sessions, you can decide whether BCUA is the right club for you.

How it works before every training session

Once you've registered by email, you'll receive a personal link that allows you to sign up for or cancel upcoming sessions with just a few clicks. You'll also be able to see who else is attending, making it easy to meet new playing partners and become part of the community.
